This is a half day training course for those who hold their PA2. Or it is booked as an add-on element to a PA2 training day. It is followed by a Level 2 NPTC City & Guilds assessment. Our course in applying Pesticides from a Vehicle Mounted Kerb Sprayer is delivered by an experienced instructor who will help attendees develop their knowledge of health and safety requirements and further their continuous professional development. Price includes NPTC City & Guilds assessment qualification.

This course is designed for anyone who uses a Vehicle mounted kerb sprayer as part of their work.

Please bring photographic proof of ID and City & Guilds number (if held). To obtain your City & Guilds individual candidate number please call 02476 857300.

Greenway Training will provide the PPE & equipment.

Candidates need to hold a PA1 certification in order to be able to attend.

Candidates should arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled course in preparation for a prompt start and be dressed appropriately in work type clothing and bring a waterproof coat, wellington boots and reading glasses (if required).

This is a Level 2 qualification, which is independently assessed. The price of the course includes the cost of the assessment. However your assessment slot needs to be booked by our office team on a date following your course. We have assessors pre-booked to cover this course.

This is a nationally recognised vocational qualification in the land-based sector, Equivalent to a Level 2 academic qualification like GCSEs.

The qualification is assessed through a combination of written examinations and practical assessments that involve direct observation and questioning by an approved assessor.

Additional information

Please email the office with a site contact name, number and what3words reference. Please inform us of any site security requirements one week prior to your course.

Please ensure there is a dry and warm classroom type space with wifi connection and full access to w.c. facilities.

Please ensure that there is a sprayer machine [either mounted or trailed] available with mounted kerb lance. We will also require a covered area for maintenance and calibration of the sprayer together with a large outdoor space for the practical, an area of at least 50m X 100m.

PPE comprising of spray coveralls, measuring jugs, wellington boots, 30cm nitrile gloves.

Once complete, learners will be able to;

  • Identify and describe how vehicle mounted spraying equipment works
  • Prepare and set up vehicle mounted/trailed spraying machines
  • Identify and describe how a spraying machine works
  • Choose and use the correct nozzles for any application
  • Set and calibrate the machine for a given application
  • Fill vehicle mounted spraying equipment safely
  • Clean and decontaminate all the equipment safely
  • Service the machine
  • Operate a spraying machine safely and effectively.

Pre requisites for this course

  • The ability to read and comprehend English.
  • Due to the nature of the training a minimum level of fitness will be required for specific operations. Whilst we would not want to disadvantage you as a learner, it is an essential requirement.
  • >16 years old
  • Evidence they have passed their Level 2 Safe Use of Pesticides course & PA2 or have booked a place with Greenway Training
  • Candidate must be able to proficiently drive the particular vehicle(s) used during training.
