Anyone transporting animals on journeys of over 65 km, approximately 40 miles (up to and including 8 hours) as part of an economic activity must hold a valid animal transport assessment certificate to do so.
This qualification has been designed for those transporting cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, horses, donkeys or poultry on road
We feel that if you work in the agricultural industry and have experience of moving livestock then formal training or a course should not be required to pass this exam. Candidates will be provided with information and sample questions to look at if they need to brush up on anything. The computer-based test is multiple choice and focuses on animal welfare.
If you have not had prior experience we would offer our LANTRA E-learning course – two hour e-learning training content at £68 + VAT
Please bring photographic proof of ID and City & Guilds number (if held). To obtain your City & Guilds individual candidate number please call 02476 857300.
Greenway Training will provide the equipment.
Candidates must complete and return the electronic City & GuildsRegistration Form as soon as they are able. A Link to the E-Form is sent as a separate email.
Candidates should arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled assessment in preparation for a prompt start.
The cost stated below includes the assessment of one category of animal/livestock (detailed below). If candidates wish to be assessed in additional categories of animals then there is an additional charge of £55 + VAT per category. Pre reading material is available upon request
The learner must be registered through a City & Guilds approved Assessment Centre for this qualification prior to assessment. On successful completion of the Animal Transport Assessment the candidate will receive a City & Guilds E-certificate and Electronic skills card.
If a client has multiple candidates we can arrange for one of our assessors to bring our assessment laptops to your place of work, providing you have the necessary facilities. This service will incur an additional charge.
