Build Your Future in the Rural Economy
Every year, thousands of service leavers like you step into civilian life with a wealth of skills, experience and determination. What many don’t realise is just how much the rural economy needs exactly what you bring.
From leadership and teamwork to mechanics, logistics and problem-solving — your military background has already prepared you for a career in land-based industries. And right now, rural employers are crying out for people with your mindset and abilities.
As a Careers Transition Partnership (CTP) Preferred Supplier, we work closely with the CTP to ensure service leavers have access to high-quality, relevant training in the land-based and rural sectors.
Greenway Training is proud to be a partner in the Veterans Rural Skills Partnership, a national initiative focused on building stronger links between veterans and rural employers.
The Partnership aims to:
- Improve targeted information for service leavers through the Careers Transition Partnership (CTP).
- Develop a clear rural employment pathway to help veterans understand opportunities in land-based industries.
- Strengthen collaboration between rural employers, trade associations, and veterans’ organisations.
- Strengthen collaboration between rural employers, trade associations, and veterans’ organisations.
As part of this work, Mission Community has published a land-based sector guide to support the CTP, while rural trade associations such as Country Landowners Association (CLA), National Farmers Union (NFU) and Scottish Land & Estates (SLE) will help rural employers better understand the skills and strengths veterans can bring.

This collaboration marks an important step in creating clearer routes into rural work for veterans while helping employers access a skilled and motivated workforce.
We are proud to have signed the Armed Forces Covenant and to hold the Bronze Award in the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, reflecting our commitment to supporting veterans and their families.
