Pre-booking Queries

Please call or email the office with your full name and business name (if relevant)  and we will facilitate this for you.

If your company has registered with our accounts department, you can secure your place by providing us with your purchase order (PO) number when making the booking. Once we receive the PO (or confirmation of funding), we will hold the place for you.

You can’t reserve a place, but account holders can book a place without making immediate payment, which is helpful if your company needs to raise a purchase order first.

Yes, we offer onsite delivery (subject to suitability, health & safety, and equipment). We deliver courses everywhere south of Birmingham! Please contact us with your site location and requirements so we can confirm feasibility and cost.

Lantra provide training only courses, integrated training and independently assessed qualifications. NPTC / City & Guilds only deliver independently assessed qualification.  The HSE recognise Qualifications awarded by both awarding bodies.

A novice course is for those who are new to an activity, have minimal experience, or have never undertaken formal training.

A refresher course is intended for those who already hold a certificate and want to update their knowledge and skills, maintain safe practice or meet industry expectations.

For example, Lantra offers refresher courses for chainsaw skills to ensure competence is maintained in line with the “Chainsaws at Work” HSE guidance (INDG317).

Equipment hire is available if you are attending a course at Greenway Training Centre (subject to availability). Please enquire with us at the time of booking or in advance so we can arrange hire (and cost) as needed.

Yes, we have PPE available for hire at Greenway Training Centre (subject to availability). Please request this early so we can ensure availability and sizing.

We are committed to inclusive training. Please let us know in advance of your course so we can arrange reasonable adjustments (e.g. extra time, alternative formats). Please see our Reasonable Adjustments Policy.

Swindon is our nearest Train Station. If needed, we may be able to arrange local pickup from Lyneham bus station (subject to capacity).

Moreton in Marsh is the nearest train station to Guiting Manor Farms, Guiting Power. Taxi would be required from the train station.

We do not have onsite accommodation, but we do allow campervans to stay overnight.

Booking Amendments Queries

Yes, name changes are normally allowed. As long as all course pre-requisites are met. Please contact us with the full correct name so we can update your booking.
Yes, you may move your course date (subject to availability and with two week’s notice). We ask you to contact us as soon as possible. Note that a rebooking fee may apply depending on how late the request is. Our full terms and conditions can be found here 

If you cancel at least 10 working days before the course date, you will receive a refund minus an administration fee. Cancellations made within 10 working days (two weeks) of the course date are non-refundable.

If you are called up for duty during your booked course, please notify us as soon as possible (with official proof). We will treat this as a special circumstance and will offer a free reschedule or full refund, depending on timing and available alternatives.

Course Preparation Queries

You will need to ensure a safe working area for training, adequate space for practical work, ground suitable for machinery, and a risk assessment for the location. We will also need power, welfare facilities (toilets, water), first-aid provision, and safe parking. We will supply a checklist in advance regarding specific machinery and PPE.
Once your training date is confirmed, please call or email us and we will allocate your assessment slot. We’ll then send you the details via email.
Bring a form of photographic ID (e.g. passport or driver’s licence). Some courses may also require proof of prior qualifications or certificates (for refreshers). All pre-requisites are detailed on the course pages.
If you have booked a machinery refresher course, we require a signed declaration regarding your prior experience.

This should be countersigned by someone (other than the delegate) who is in a position to testify as to the learner’s level of detailed knowledge and sufficient experience. This would normally be the employer or someone that works closely with the learner such as their supervisor/manager.

You should bring your own PPE (helmet, gloves, boots, eye protection, etc.) where required. Details are available on the course page, but we will also send you a PPE list when confirming your booking. If you’ve requested PPE hire, we’ll provide that on the morning of your course.

We ask candidates to arrive 15 minutes before their courses starts at 9am.  The time courses finish depends on the number of candidates and their experience. Your joining instructions will confirm times.

Hot drinks and biscuits are provided throughout the day. There are two mini supermarkets in Lyneham just a mile from Greenway Training Centre.

At Guiting Power food can be purchased at The Old Post Office and The Cotswold Guy, within ½ mile from Guiting Manor Farms.

Post-Course Queries

You may send feedback directly to us (Greenway Trainings) via email or through the contact form on our website. Our complaints procedure is detailed in the polices section of the website and is available on request.
E-Certificates are emailed to the course co-ordinator within 10 working days of the course/assessment. A link to the certificate portal is sent direct to the candidates. If you haven’t received an email within 10 working days, please contact us.

Please note that certificates are issued once a course has been paid for.

LANTRA candidates can now access e-certificates dating back to September 2021. By using the following link they can create an account on the LANTRA Learner Hub   This will facilitate access to a secure platform where credentials are automatically uploaded and accessible from any device.

Our client’s can request copies of electronic certifactes direct from Greenway Training for training that has taken place since 2024.

Both LANTRA and NPTC City & Guilds e-Certificates are issued with a unique QR code  and a certificate authentication code linked to the learner’s name. The authenticity of an e-Certificate can be checked and assured by Scanning the QR code on the certificate. Alternatively, the following Certificate Checkers can be used to check the validity of certificates and the person claiming to hold it;  LANTRA Certificate Verification   C&G e-Certificate Verification

At present, it is still possible to purchase a plastic skills card and/or a hard copy of a LANTRA certificate. However, these are now chargeable at £30 +VAT per item or £40 +VAT for both the certificate & skills card.

Greenway Training have electronic records of all training for our clients dating back to 2015 and are available upon request. We can easily move your training records over to your new employer / business on request. We also plan to activate our new client portal in 2026 allowing clients to view their training records & course bookings.

The HSE recommends that operators receive refresher every 3-5 years to stay current with legislation, safety practices, and equipment changes.
Occasional users require more frequent training.

A personal bleed kit is on the kit list for anyone attending a chainsaw course.  This is stated on the course pages of the website and on your joining instructions. If a candidate does not bring one then he/she will be permanently allocated with a brand new kit. It is charged so that it is yours to keep (and to maintain hygiene/safety).

We have a wide range of machinery dedicated for training purposes, with PPE and chainsaws also available for hire at our principle training site in Wiltshire. We have a range of converted farm buildings which house fully equipped modern training facilities coupled with adjacent land.
